On many fronts, I agree with how others see me with a few additions: I'm relentless, stubborn, and passionate about my animals and students whom I tutor. I reinvent myself often and can be impatient with people I judge as mindless and thoughtless. Working on that one.
When I begin a project that I believe in, I hunker down and will pursue it until there's nothing left to give. Such has been the case raising my two step kids and most recently, a novel 5+ years in the running, which whenever it sees the light-of-day, my mother (assuming she reads it) will either disown me, hire a hit woman, or have a stroke. And, being the consummate observer of life and language, most things become material for some present or future work.
